New Beginnings ~ Chapter 3: Beginning Again

Lost. Blind. Forsaken.

It's raining again. Lightning strikes away at my soul. Thunder destroys what little I have left. The skies, stormy and grey. Uncoloured, like me.

I look down, as if in penance. What I see is startling. A haze, a shadow in the dark. I recognize the figure.

Hope.

I run downstairs. Open the front door. Embrace the pouring rain with no dignity in mind.

Relief. Then guilt, and forgiveness. Mixed emotions. Yet, I still race towards him with open arms.

Sobbing into his shoulder, I take his hand. And we stand, together, under the falling rain..
